Courage Kenny Ski and Snowboard Ski-A-Thon

Welch Village Sundays

Starting in 1968, Welch Village is the birthplace for adaptive skiing in Minnesota. The Handicap Skiers Association started teaching adaptive ski lessons with couple kids with physical disabilities and Vietnam Veterans that were injured in the war. The program later merged with Courage Center Alpine Skiers in 1980 and is now the Courage Kenny Ski and Snowboard program. Volunteer instructors and adaptive athletes ski and snowboard at Welch Village on Sunday mornings.
